Position Overview

Participate in creating the next Autodesk Platform for the Media and Entertainment industry. Utilizing an Autodesk cloud-based toolset supporting production pipelines in Film, VFX, and Game industries, we envision a future in which the Film, VFX, and Game industries operate more effectively and with greater creative agility. This is an opportunity to utilize your skills as you help us impact the productivity of hundreds of Studios while learning leading edge practices and technologies.
As part of the "Production Tracking - ShotGrid" team, you will help improve how major customers like Netflix, ILM (Industrial Light & Magic ), Epic, Weta, and Warner Brothers track their productions (VFX, Games, 3D animation, etc.) using our Emmy-winning product, ShotGrid. You will also help us to evolve toward using micro services on our future M&E (Media and Entertainment) platform, using state-of-the-art technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a developer with SaaS 
  • On the back-end: strong knowledge of the Ruby-on-rails language 
  • (Or any equivalent that confirms you are a strong back-end developer!)
  • On the front-end: strong knowledge of the Javascript language along with HTML/CSS 
  • (Or you are a strong back-end dev and JavaScript does not scare you)
  • Experience with revision control systems (GitHub) ​
  • Experience with applying Agile software development methodologies
  • Ability to learn quickly and to adapt to frequent change 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate across organizations 
  • Must be willing to pivot regularly and accept/execute a wide variety of projects
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English (and verbal skills in French for any location in Quebec)
  • Development experience on Mac


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with React programming 
  • Experience with ES6+ versions of Javascript 
  • Experience with other languages such as: Python 
  • Development experience in large software applications 
  • Experience in libraries and component services development (Cloud) 
  • 3 + years of ShotGrid production experience (bonus: Film, VFX or Games pipeline)
